"Travellin' Story" (v21)

HOT OCTOBER [bluegrass]
Hot October is a quartet of the hottest pickers in Los Angeles. Dave Tranchina (bass) offers a unique contemporary sound weather he is slapping out rhythms or bowing a bass fiddle lead. Sasha Birrittella (guitar) is a flat top gunslinger who artfully crafts leads up and down the neck. Jesse Olema (violin) brings creative original songs that defy the genre, all while sawing the fiddle strings with jaw dropping precision. Paul Fuller (banjo) lends his unstoppable banjo growl to push the band and make your feet stomp. Their tight harmonies sooth the weary and their flashy instrumentals will set fire to the stage.

::Featured Artists::
NED CLARK [voice&guitar]
Ned Clark is a singer/songwriter with wide ranging interests and influences. He studied all kinds of music at the California Institute of the Arts and has performed all over the states both solo and in ensembles. His favorite venue for performance is and has always been around a campfire in the middle of the wilderness. The pay may be lousy, but you can't beat the atmosphere!

JACK SANDERS [classical&baroque guitars]
"Sanders played with uncanny ease and apparent nonchalance that belied a highly trained technique and innate knowledge of where the important lines are and how best to bring them out. Sanders’ extended, unaccompanied solo in the second movement was nothing short of astoundingly fluid and mellifluously lyrical."
--The Irvine World News

PETE MORRIS [live painting]
"Morris painted on the spot portraits of the happening!"
--LA Jazz Scene

::Special Guest::
TARA ROSE [opera singer & classical guitarist]
Tara began her career as an opera singer with much success. By the age of 21 she was a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Finals. During her graduate studies at University of Colorado Boulder, Tara found her true passion: art songs with classical guitar accompaniment. During this transitional time, Tara became addicted to guitar and soon was accompanying herself. She has since released two solo albums with rare selections for classical guitar and voice, played for a White House Delegation and this summer she will give a solo recital at the Guitar Foundation of America National Convention. |
